About

about the ape project

APE Project C.I.C. is a non profit organisation which works for children, young people and their families across Bristol.

We are passionate about the importance of play and its ability to transform both individuals and communities.  APE is an acronym for Art, Play and Environment and these are the three key principles that drive our work.  We aim to promote creativity, healthy lifestyles, community development, environmental awareness and to highlight the value and profile of outdoor freely chosen play.  We have a strong focus on pratical skills, tool work, craft and cooperation.

Set up in June 2007 with funding from the Scarman Trust. The project has grown to deliver a broad range of services, workshops and training.  APE Project staff are CRB checked, first aid trained and qualified play workers/forest school leaders/bike mechanics/practising artists with years of experience between them.  APE Project activities are ideal for children and young people of all ages and we can work in schools, colleges, clubs, open access play settings, festivals, community events and private bookings.
