Adventure Play and Practical Skills
Rachel and Guy have both spent time working in adventure Playgrounds and delivering Play Ranger sessions in parks open spaces. We specialise in replicating these play experiences in the most urban of outdoor spaces.
APE Project has years of experience in delivering adventurous outdoor play activities in and around Bristol. These activities are widely understood to promote self esteem, emotional intelligence and holistic development in the context of learning in the outdoor environment. We promote the use of tools and risky play such as tree climbing and fire craft. Staff are trained to Level 3 in both Playwork and Forest Schools and all our activities are properly risk assessed and insured with First Aid trained adults.
We can provide hammocks, ropes, climbing equipment, swings, tyres and obstacles to create a fantastic physical play space, providing there are some trees on site to use. A great way to promote physical activity, gross motor skills, balance and teamwork.
Our water play rig is made up from recycled drainpipes, bath tubs, pumps, buckets, climbing frames, pots, watering cans and hose pipes. The system is designed to re-use its water over and over again, meaning that leaks and spillages are to be avoided. Not only does this reflect nature’s own water cycle but also helps to show how precious water is in the modern world. Practical skills and logical thought are needed to design and build the structure which we encourage the children to do as much as possible. It is also extremely good fun, especially in the sun. Suitable for children of all ages and abilities.
